TSA is the independent advisory body for the technology enabled care (TEC) sector. We support organisations that commission, provide and supply TEC services and solutions to over 1.9 million older and disabled people.
Our vision is to enrich, enhance and enable people’s everyday lives through technology enabled care.
TSA members include NHS trusts, local authorities, care providers, housing associations and technology suppliers.
We act as a strategic convenor across care, health and housing, supporting hands-on delivery of actions to embed TEC into services.
TSA regularly provides advice on proactive and preventative care to governments and regulators in the four home nations.
Technology enabled care (TEC) includes everyday devices such as smart watches and voice assistants through to specialist technologies like fall detectors and home sensor systems.
But TEC is more than just kit. It works best when it’s integrated with anticipatory interventions such as wellbeing calls, falls response schemes and community activities.
Creating a proactive, preventative service and wrapping it around the needs of an individual (with TEC as the ‘glue’) enables people to manage their own health and live the life they want. It also gives reassurance to families and reduces pressure on the NHS and social services.
Our aim is to enhance the understanding and adoption of technology in care across the UK.
We do this by sharing knowledge, nurturing innovation and improving quality.
TEC Quality runs our Quality Standards Framework, the only independent and UKAS accredited quality assurance system in the TEC sector.
