£50k funding for projects using technology to improve social care

The Local Government Association (LGA) is working with NHS Digital to provide a local investment programme of one-off grant funding of up to £50,000.

The investment programme will support innovation in transforming care and health services through tech. The prospectus invites councils to bid for one-off local investment funding of up to £50,000 for projects that seek to use technology to improve adult social care and health outcomes and deliver financial savings. It is anticipated that approximately fifteen councils will be supported through this programme.

The investment funding will be allocated following a competitive expression of interest process and key outputs will be used to disseminate learning and share best practice amongst councils to support services in this area.

Key themes:

The expressions of interest should relate to at least one of the following themes:

1. Sharing information and integrating services

2. Enabling people to interact with care services through digital channels

3. Promoting independence and wellbeing through the use of digital services and technology

4. Integrating commissioning through the improved use of information and analysis

5. Enabling care professionals to work from any base at any time
