Progress Lifeline proudly announces that its responder team Calderdale Home Responder Team has been crowned West Yorkshire's Unsung Wonder category which was determined by a public vote. Pulse 1 Radio, with Together Housing, launched the West Yorkshire Wonder Awards to showcase and recognise the exceptional work local keyworkers and first responders have achieved during the current situation.
The Calderdale team was nominated to acknowledge the amazing work the small, yet dedicated team is doing during COVID-19. They currently support 2,800 service users in the Calderdale area who are vulnerable or at risk of falls. The small team has worked together assisting over 800 call outs from the vulnerable or elderly since lockdown began, easing the pressure on the Ambulance service.
“Since lockdown started, we have attended over 800 call outs and lifted over 200 people. Sometimes, when a person is left on the floor for a long period, it can soon escalate to an emergency situation,. Lindsay, Brian, Ian, Nick, Caroline, Glyn, Amie, Caroline, Lindsey, Dave and John have worked so hard throughout lockdown, and this award means that not only does the Group recognise the amazing work they do," says Mat Carter, Calderdale Team Leader.
Loraine Simpson, Service Director is delighted: "....they truly are remarkable. They continue to provide the highest quality service to our customers, and their allegiance and dedication enable people to stay in their own homes to live independent lives.”
The Progress Lifeline team leads the way in vital over-and-above duties demonstrated by so many of TSA's TEC service providers.
