TSA have been made aware of several incidences where vulnerable members of the public have been targeted by companies offering telecare services or claiming to have taken over the local telecare provision. The scammers go on to request bank account and personal details.

We are investigating this in more detail and will keep TSA members up to date - if any TSA members are aware of similar issues in their area then please get in touch with us.

In the meantime please circulate this warning around your networks and communications channels, reinforcing that people should not give personal information or payment details over the phone and make sure all family and friends are aware of any untoward approach.

If you do get any reports where people may have been persuaded to give their details away in this manner, it should be reported it to the Citizens Advice on 03454 04 05 06.
