Paul Shead

Paul has been working in the telecare industry since 1994, first as a monitoring service provider and then as a supplier, with senior technical, sales and commercial roles at Attendo, Chubb and Verklizan.

Verklizan provides the UMO Universal Monitoring platform, operational in 16 European countries, with centres who monitor over 1 million people using a wide variety of telecare, video, mobile and telehealth devices. Verklizan do not manufacture or supply these devices, but choose to actively work with other suppliers including many TSA members - to achieve interoperability and develop unique service offerings to take advantage of the best products and innovations from across Europe.

Paul has worked very closely with the TSA and its membership since the organisation’s inception, and he was involved in the original ASAP Technical Group, representing ASAP and the UK as an expert on the British Standard and European Standards committees. Paul also wrote four of the first TSA good practice guides.

Paul was delighted to be elected as a Non-Executive Director in May 2012, and is now a director coopted by the board. Paul lives in Lancashire with his wife and son, and in his spare time loves to ride motorbikes, go sailing, play guitar and sing in his band.
