New guidance on fire safety in specialised housing

TSA has supported the development of Fire Safety in Specialised Housing guidance which will be published on 1 April. It has been commissioned by the Chief Fire Officers’ Association (CFOA) to improve consistency of regulation for the benefit of fire services, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and the housing and social care sectors.

International Technology Enabled Care Conference 2017

MASCOT Telecare & London Fire Brigade

In October 2016, telecare and community support services provider MASCOT was awarded funding from the London Fire Brigade to help increase fire safety within the borough.

This project is now underway and MASCOT is working with householders who are vulnerable for one or more of the following reasons:

•             Sensory impairment, vision and/ or hearing loss

•             Mobility difficulties

Training in Call Handling, Installation of TEC equipment and Response

The development of the Core Competency eLearning modules for Call Handling, Installation of TEC equipment, and Response is continuing. 

Members are participating via working groups and are currently pulling together content - which will form the basis of the learning experience - by 10 March. Content will then be submitted to TSA’s education partner, Learning Curve Group to build the learning platform. 

The three modules - Call Handling, Installation of TEC equipment and Response training will go live at TSA's Summer Forum from 28 – 29 June.
