Prof. Roy Sandbach OBE

Professor Roy Sandbach is Chair of the Technology for our Ageing Population: Panel for Innovation (TAPPI) inquiry. He is a TSA board member and vice-chair of Sunderland Ageing Well board.

As well as this, He chairs Northern Accelerator, the research commercialisation programme across the five North East Universities and also now in York. He developed the regional innovation strategy for the North East and was founding chair of the North East Innovation Board. Roy is a Fellow and former Industry Council President of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Roy spent 31 years with the Procter & Gamble Company. One of his patented inventions is a $150 million business. Roy was awarded the OBE in 2017 for services to science, innovation & skills.
