I currently work at TSA as a Membership and Workforce Engagement Officer, having joined the organisation back in August 2024 as a Business Support Officer. I moved into my current role in May 2025 and now focus on supporting our members and helping strengthen the workforce side of the TEC sector. It’s an exciting and varied role, and I’ve loved getting stuck into everything from community building to project work.
Before joining TSA, I worked at Tesco for seven years as a Team Leader in the Dot Com department. Most of that time was spent making sure everything ran smoothly behind the scenes—managing teams, solving problems, and trying to keep things calm even during the Christmas rush! It was a great place to develop leadership skills and a solid grounding in day-to-day operations, but after nearly a decade, I was ready to try something new and meaningful in a completely different sector.
My academic background is a bit of a curveball—I’ve got a Master’s degree in Medieval History from the University of Sheffield, where I focused on the 9th-century Frankish Church. I still love digging into obscure historical topics when I get the chance, and honestly, studying history taught me a lot about how people and systems work (and occasionally don’t!).
In 2025, I was really proud to be selected as part of the Housing LIN Future Leaders Programme. It’s been a brilliant experience so far — connecting with others across the housing, care, and health sectors who are all working on making things better for people in their communities. It’s helped me think more about the big picture and how small, practical changes can have a real impact.
Outside of work, I’ve got a few long-standing passions and habits. I’m a loyal (some would say stubborn) supporter of Crewe Alexandra and have followed them through promotion and relegation. I also play Dungeons & Dragons, which is one of my favourite ways to unwind, be creative, and spend time with friends. And, like a lot of people, I’m constantly trying out new diets—from keto to calorie counting to whatever’s trending this month. Some go better than others!
I really enjoy being part of the team at TSA and getting to work in a space that’s all about connection, innovation, and supporting people to live better lives. I’m always up for a chat—especially if it’s about football, food, or anything even vaguely medieval.
