Have your say: New Government National Standards for TEC

30th April 2025

The Government has announced plans to introduce new national standards and trusted guidance for care technology – and now is the time to have your say.

To support this policy development, the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has launched a market engagement exercise via Find a Tender, seeking written input from across the care technology sector. These standards will influence how technologies are assessed, commissioned, and adopted — making it essential that the voice of our sector is heard.

This is a vital opportunity to influence what “good” looks like in care tech and to help shape the standards that will guide future innovation, procurement, and delivery.

Stakeholders invited to respond include:

• Care technology suppliers and innovators
• Providers of tech used in care settings
• Standards assurance and accreditation bodies
• Industry and representative organisations

We strongly encourage our members to participate and share their expertise.

How to take part:

From there, register your interest to receive:

• Details for a webinar session on 1 April at 11:30am

The notice is open for 8 weeks

Please note this is a market engagement activity only – not a procurement exercise – but your feedback will directly shape future policy. This work supports the Government’s commitment to shift care:

• From hospital to community-based settings
• From treatment to prevention
• From analogue to digital
