Purpose (Objective)

• To explore the opportunities, challenges and risks associated with the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Technology Enabled Care (TEC), considering its potential impact on service delivery, safety and outcomes for people who draw on care and support.

• To support the sector in understanding and adopting AI responsibly, identifying areas where practical guidance, shared learning and greater awareness could help organisations make informed decisions about its use.

Work Programme Update (November 2026)

The steering group for this new ICG workstream has been confirmed, bringing together expertise to explore the opportunities and challenges associated with AI in TEC. An initial awareness webinar was proposed for 7 October 2026 as a first step towards building sector understanding and encouraging discussion around the responsible use of AI. The workstream will focus on identifying key priorities and opportunities for collaboration, with a view to developing practical guidance and supporting informed adoption across the sector.
