Alyson Scurfield OBE is Chief Executive of the TEC Services Association (TSA) and its assurance partner, TEC Quality. She brings extensive experience and a collaborative approach to service transformation, quality and innovation across the digital health and care sector.
Since joining TSA as Chief Executive in 2013, Alyson has played a leading role in the development of Technology Enabled Care, working across health, housing and social care to strengthen the role of technology in supporting people to live safely, independently and well. In June 2026, she was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the King’s Birthday Honours for services to Technology Enabled Care.
Throughout her career, Alyson has held a number of influential leadership roles and has helped drive higher standards of quality and safety across the sector, including through the work of TEC Quality and the development of the UKAS-accredited Quality Standards Framework. She is also Chair of Age UK North Tyneside, where she supports work to help people age well and live with dignity and independence.
A strong advocate for co-production, Alyson believes that people, their families and carers should be at the heart of the design and delivery of services. Her approach centres on collaboration, bringing together people and organisations from across sectors and ensuring that lived experience helps shape services and deliver meaningful, personalised outcomes.
Under Alyson’s leadership, TSA continues to champion a more proactive and preventative approach to care, alongside greater integration across health, housing and social care. Her focus includes quality and safety, workforce capability, digital transformation, interoperability and ensuring Technology Enabled Care is recognised as an integral part of how services are designed and delivered.
Looking ahead, Alyson’s ambition is to see technology fully embedded within joined-up health, housing and care services, supporting people to live the lives they choose. Central to that vision is ensuring that high-quality Technology Enabled Care is accessible to everyone who could benefit, regardless of their health, financial circumstances or where they live.
