In 2026, Lancaster University completed the largest independent evaluation of Nobi in the UK, commissioned by the NHS and covering 57 nursing and residential care homes across Lancashire. Using real ambulance service data, staff surveys, and detailed case studies, the findings confirm what care teams had already been seeing on the ground.

The results speak for themselves. Fall rates reduced by 31%, dropping from 1.85 to 1.28 incidents per resident per month. The NHS is estimated to save up to £1.49 million annually across the pilot homes, rising to £14.8 million over ten years as ongoing costs reduce. The report suggests that scaling Nobi to 450 lights in high-risk homes could prevent around 45 serious injuries and 5 hip fractures over three years alone.

But it's not just about detection. Nobi's playback and sleep reporting tools helped staff understand why falls were happening, and change the conditions that caused them. The result is fewer falls, not just faster responses.

Of 228 care home staff and managers surveyed, 80% felt confident using Nobi to manage fall risk. 54% of managers reported an overall improvement in resident wellbeing. Staff described better-informed triage, stronger CQC documentation, and more personalised care for residents at different risk levels.

Nobi was also recognised with the international TEC award at the ITEC Conference, reflecting its impact across the wider UK care landscape.
