Paul Berney appointed Deputy Chief Executive of TSA

We are delighted to announce that Paul Berney has been appointed Deputy Chief Executive of TSA.

Paul takes up the role from 3 August 2026, having previously served as TSA’s Principal Associate, leading our consulting team and wider sector support activities.

In his new position, Paul will work alongside Chief Executive Alyson Scurfield OBE and TSA’s leadership team to help shape the organisation’s future direction, support our growing membership and strengthen our work across the technology enabled care sector.

Paul is a recognised expert in technology enabled care, with more than eight years of experience in the sector and over 30 years in senior sales, marketing, commercial and leadership roles.

Since joining TSA, he has led a range of consulting and sector development work. This includes authoring Unlocking the Power of Proactive and Preventative Care Services, a practical blueprint for helping organisations move towards more proactive approaches that identify risk earlier and support people to remain safe and independent.

Before working directly with TSA, Paul spent six years in a senior role within one of our member organisations, helping to develop and grow its connected care proposition.

“I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to help shape the future of TSA and to support our members as they shape the future of technology enabled care.

“There is a great deal of expertise, commitment and ambition across our membership. I am looking forward to working with colleagues and members to turn that shared knowledge into practical action and positive change for the people who draw on care and support.”

Paul’s appointment comes at an important time, as we continue to expand our work to support members, influence national policy and help health, housing and social care organisations make greater use of technology enabled care.

This includes developing practical guidance, evidence and sector-wide approaches that support investment in proactive and preventative services and help more people live safely and independently in their own homes.
