Canary Care is a passive remote activity monitoring system that uses sensors, placed around a property, to gather information about a person’s daily routines. It provides tangible insights to care professionals to inform care pathway decisions and can raise an alert if something unexpected happens. Canary Care provides families with peace of mind and supports independent living. The system detects movement, door activity, temperature, light and humidity levels, and electrical appliance usage. It also includes a smart card reader than can be used to keep track of visitors to the property or evidence staff activity. There are no cameras or microphones and no existing internet connection or even landline is required, since connectivity is via cellular networks using a built-in roaming SIM. Canary Care is used by over 100 UK local authorities, as well as the NHS and private sector care and housing providers.
